Can you spot the dokken kids in this picture?

We were thankful that it didn't rain during the outdoor game time

Last week hundreds of Papua New Guinean children came here to the mission center for Vacation Bible School.  Paul, Daniel and I were helpers.  The children enjoyed puppets, skits, singing, games and great teaching.  The theme was the 10 Commandments and as the children learned God’s laws  they could recognize that we are all sinful and in need of a Savior.  They were taught that it’s only through Jesus that we can be saved from our sin and a number of  children prayed to give their lives to Jesus!

Each day they were given a paper with pictures and script related to the lesson and had a chance to color.  When it was time to move on to the next activity we would have a hard time coaxing the kids away.  The majority of these kids are not in school and many had probably never had a chance to color before!

Kids here give a little lift of their eyebrows to say yes.  Paul had about 20 kids around him, calling out each name to get the right paper to the right child.  He called out one boys’ name but didn’t see anyone raising their hand. Finally, he looked down and saw the boy in front of him giving his eyebrows a little lift to say “here I am!”  :  )

Over 500 children heard the gospel this week and we pray that the Good News will spread through this valley into every village and every home.
