In the Wild

Yesterday Paul and I rode the motorcycle 40 km through the wilderness.
The scenery was so stunning I could hardly wrap my mind around it and
our photos hardly begin to capture the beauty. Living on the center here
in Papua New Guinea it's easy to forget that we are literally in the
middle of Nowhere. This ride reminded me. The tall waving grass, the
soft rolling hills and mountains go on and on and on.

The other night Paul and I rode the motorcycle across center to pick up
some medicine. As we drove on the outskirts of center, near the fence, I
couldn't see anything but inky blackness and stars. It was a strange
thought to think that just outside that fence was a vast wilderness -
primitive and mysterious.
